
About the Nazareth YMCA Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate) Program
Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Nazareth YMCA in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The children's class is held from 6:45 PM until 7:45 PM. The Adult class is held from 7:45 PM to 8:45 PM. The Nazareth YMCA is located at the heart of Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Nazareth is a small town, in the Lehigh Valley, a few miles North of the Allentown/Bethlehem area in Eastern Pennsylvania. Nazareth is geographically equidistant from both New York and Philadelphia.

The Nazareth YMCA program was started in the Spring of 1994. At the beginning there were only two students. Today there are more than 30 students. The students are split about evenly between children and adults. Between 40-50% of the class is female. Class is taught in the traditional fashion, with a strong emphasis on discipline, and competence in technique. Classes include training in techniques, combinations, forms, partner drills and free fighting. Each student is required to give 100% effort in class.


The Program is affiliated with the Tang Soo Karate Academy, under Grandmaster D.A. Giacobbe. Each student is trained and tested according to the same rigorous standards as in the Tang Soo Karate Academies located in Clementon, NJ, Pleasantville, NJ, Rocky Mount, NC, Las Vegas, NV, and Los Angeles, CA.
